Interrogating “Gender”: Short Course for Rainbow Foundation Students

A course conducted for 15-18 year old girls of Kilkari Rainbow Home of the Rainbow Foundation of India and Delhi Government’s Dil Se Campaign for the residential care and education of street-children. The course exposed students to empowering insights from feminist scholarship in a 21st C learning environment, allowing them to critically analyze gender roles and gendered relations of power and inequality in society. The course focused on developing digital literacy, communication and critical thinking skills in the students. The short course generated tremendous enthusiasm for experiential and self-directed learning and is being extended into a longer program to promote readiness for college and civic life.
